Two of our undergraduates, Cormac Davis (Class of 2027) pictured to the left and Priya Tomerlin (Class of 2026) (image not taken), were selected to give an oral presentation on their posters for this year’s Celebration of Research. Cormac presented on the impact of sex hormones and sex chromosomes in coxsackievirus B3-induced myocarditis, and Priya presented on stem cell-conditioned media as a potential therapeutic against myocarditis.
Kyra Ritter (Class of 2028) picture to the right also presented on the progression of coxsackievirus-B3 induced myocarditis in male and female C57BL/6 mice. We’re very proud of all of our undergraduates who were able to come and represent!
Our lab technician, Katherine Gegoutchadze, on the left presented on the role of neutrophils and vitamin D binding protein in viral myocarditis, while our MD/PhD student, Jake Ricci, on the right presented on using CX3CR1/GFP CCR2/RFP dual reporter mice to investigate macrophage populations in this model.
One of our graduate students, Ashley Darakjian (picture not taken), was also present to talk about using an adenovirus-associated vector as a potential therapeutic against myocarditis.
We also had some high schoolers who had helped with our research present! Lincoln Rozen (left) and Ethan Rozen (right) presented on gynecologic, reproductive complications and migraine-like symptoms, respectively, associated with hypermobility syndromes like EDS and HDS.
